Sage Creek: Comfort in Loneliness
A small write up of the impact Sage Creek and the Milk River had on my life.

Overview

Earlier this year, I took a trip to go visit some family in Saskatchewan. As a natural wanderer, and due to some mental stresses at the time, I found myself taking quite a heavy detour from the usual route from Edmonton to Regina. This detour lasted roughly 23 hours of driving and stopping to sniff the flowers. I traveled roughly 1800km off route heading directly down south to the border of Alberta and Montana, then heading east along the United States border. When you take time by yourself and have no worry in the world on where the world takes you, sometimes only then can you really enjoy the higher spiritual and natural aspects of life. The only word that I could chalk up to this trip would be "enchanting," the feeling of absolute comfort follows you to the most quiet, remote locations.

Drumheller

On my way down to Calgary, I decided out of nowhere to just start hitting south out of nowhere, This lead me to go down beautiful rolling hills, with the morning sunset beaming kaleidoscopic light filtered through the thin layer of foliage coating the land like a carpet. Letting the road take me, I had memories from my childhood of going to Drumheller with my sister, calling me to visit once again. The road to Drumheller was nothing but impressive. The sheer landscape of millennia of erosion from that perfect blue river. Something any human can relate to is that natural primal peace to our bodies and spirit''s feel when confronted with the accomplishments of our race, and the blood and tears spilled to make Canada what it is today. The town was so much different than I remembered.
